The Tennessee Recycling Coalition or TRC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting recycling and sustainable materials management practices in the State of Tennessee. We are a coalition of many industries, companies, and individuals networked together to raising recycling as the standard in Tennessee.

We recognize that recycled materials have value and contribute to the economic well-being of all Tennesseans. Recycling promotes and sustains jobs, adds to the revenue of local governments by growing the tax base and through the sale of collected commodities. Recycling further enhances the personal wealth of all Tennesseans through cost avoidance of landfill tipping fee charges. Ultimately, it also protects the environment by keeping the materials out of the landfill.

TRC works in partnership with the local, state, and federal governments to provide resources, education and outreach for the recycling message. We are proud of our accomplishments and strongly support the manufacturing industries in Tennessee through our partnership messages. These messages promote high quality feedstock that fuels their manufacturing.

Going Green Workshop

Gatlinburg, March 17, 2015 | 9 am - Noon

Ever want to "Go Green," but with so much information available at the click of a button it is too overwhelming to know where to start?  Or you're not even sure what the buzz is all about?  Join The Tennessee Recycling Coalition as we have assembled a group of "green experts" who have made big changes and want to share their business practices and results with you.

Hilton Garden Inn Gatlinburg will share how they became the FIRST LEED Certified Hotel in Tennessee.  Learn what low cost steps they take daily to make their hotel sustainable and tour the facility.

Dobbin Callahan, President of Skye Con, will update participants on Tennessee Green Hospitality.

Scott Murphy with the Gatlinburg Convention Center will share the steps he took to make the Gatlinburg Convention Center green & the benefits from taking simple and easy steps to make it work.

The workshop will then move to Ripley's Aquarium to get a behind the scenes tour of the aquarium, focusing on their sustainable practices. Lunch vouchers will also be given to all participants to enjoy lunch at the Aquarium.

RSVP today at (865) 850-4098 or LHoward@KeepSevierBeautiful.org.
